About Us
Launched in 1992, Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Radio Heatwave has the honour of being Singapore’s very first campus radio station.
Radio Heatwave broadcasts contemporary pop hits – every weekday from 9am to 6 pm – via the polytechnic’s intranet-feed as well as at the Atrium, a popular hangout on campus. Its state-of-the-art live radio studio is similar to that used by Singapore media conglomerates like MediaCorp, Safra Radio and SPH MediaWorks. Largely run and fronted by students, Radio Heatwave’s station format is CHR or Contemporary Hit Radio. We also play past hits from the 1980s and 1990s, as well as the latest hits from the K-Pop and J-Pop universe. Popular deejays who once worked for Radio Heatwave include Jean Danker (Class 95 FM), Justin Ang (987FM), Carine Ang (100.3 FM) and Boy Thunder (Radio 91.3).
Radio Heatwave keeps everyone in touch with what’s hot – on and off campus – including lifestyle topics and fun (sometimes zany!!) talk segments addressing fashion, movies, celebrity gossip and what’s trending. Broadcast journalism students are also known to pop into the studio to deliver the latest news updates.
We want new friends!!!
